• Receivers and DVRs. The new receivers have the ability to connect two TVs to one receiver. Each of them can be tuned in to a different channel.

DVRs stands for Digital Video Recorder and it allows to record programs like a VCR, but with better quality and more features, like the ability to “pause”. DVRs can record up to 100 hours of programming.

• The dish. With any satellite TV services you will need an external dish antenna to capture signals coming directly from the satellite that is orbiting the earth at around 22,000 miles up. Today´s dishes are smaller, better and easier than a few years ago.
