Thinning Hair

Hair thinning is a natural occurring process that affects people around the age of forty on average though some people can suffer from premature hair thinning . There are many factors that cause hair thinning besides the normal side effect of aging so there is no standard rule that it can only happen at a certain age. Diet and heredity are big factors in hair thinning . Some people suffer from genetic pattern baldness while others can have the problem because of improper nutrition. Hair is made of protein, minerals, and fat, and a diet lacking in proper nutrients is going to lead to hair problems. The hair follicle is a living tissue that needs the same nutrition care as the rest of the body. Protein and fat are the fuels of the body and they are essential to keeping hair healthy. The various minerals, vitamins, water, etc. keep hair cool, moisturized, and clean.

Vegan diets, raw foods, or sprout based diets that are low on fat and protein lead to thinning of blood that in turn can lead to hair thinning as well as thinning of skin, bones, nails, memory, organs, and many other problems. This problem is especially common among women because they tend to eat foods that are low on protein, fat, and high on carbohydrates (bread, fruit, salad, pasta, etc.). This combined with the fact that they menstruate 3 days to a week every month naturally predisposes them to a deficiency in blood, protein, and fat leading to thinning of hair, nails, skin, and bones etc.

High protein diets are equally bad as high fat and starchy foods when they do not include fruits and vegetables. Caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco are known to accelerate the aging process. The more energetic the body feels the more blood it is using up so you need to constantly replenish it with nutrients.

According to traditional Chinese medicine stagnant blood is blood that is slow moving or trapped. Stagnant blood results from clogged veins, arteries, organs, too much body fat, etc. that can lead to poor circulation, especially to the body extremities like the head, arms, and legs. When this problem becomes chronic blood supply to the head can become so affected that hair, vision, and memory can all suffer. Blood is required to run and sustain everything in the body, including hair. Any type of hindrance to the free flow of blood in the body can cause the extremities to suffer from blood deprivation and they will start to go into decline.

According to Chinese medicine another ingredient of hair is jing, which is the sexual essence. Jing is also known as the fountain of youth and when it is strongest it is the time of prime youth and a decline in jing means old age. When jing weakens everything in the body weakens and goes thin and dry. Excessive sex or daily masturbation can seriously drain jing and speed up the normal aging process. The same happens when you consume caffeine, alcohol, or tobacco.
