Your guitar gives you the best company whenever you are alone. Your guitar is your constant companion in all your travels. Your guitar is the most adorable of your possessions, if you have intense love & passion for music and beauty. Your guitar is tool to translate your beautiful moments to melodies.

Surely, guitar is one of the most melodious and mesmeric expressions of beauty. Guitar is the most complete instrument, richest in its harmonic and polyphonic possibilities. Guitar is a small orchestra of strings with every single string having different colors and different melodies.

Generally, guitar has six strings, but there are guitars having four, seven, eight, ten, and twelve strings. The crafters who make and repair guitar & other stringed instruments are called luthiers. Usually, guitar is recognized as one of the principal musical instruments in blues, country, flamenco, rock music, and many forms of pop. Guitar is also a solo classical instrument.

The stringed musical instruments have been used for at least 5,000 years, and guitar is believed to be derived from the ancient stringed instruments. According to Merriam-Webster, the modern word "guitar" came into English from French word, "GUITARE," which further came from Spanish word, " GUITARRA," which is believed to be derived from the Arabic word, " QITARA" that is believed to be derived from the earlier Greek word, " KITHARA". Today, there are mainly two types of guitar; acoustic guitar and electric guitar. The guitar that is played acoustically is known as acoustic guitar, and the guitar that relies on an amplifier that can electronically manipulate tone is known as electric guitar.

The origin of the earliest acoustic guitar is unclear, but it is believed that the Vinaccia family of luthiers, which was known for developing the mandolin, may have built the earliest extant six string guitar. The label of a six stringed guitar built in Naples , Italy has signature of Gaetano Vinaccia (1759 - after 1831) with the date of 1779. The examination of this guitar does not reveal any sign of modifications from a double-coarse guitar. Acoustic guitars may include renaissance and baroque guitar, classical guitar, portuguese guitar, flat-top (steel-string) guitar, archtop guitar, resonator - resophonic or dobro guitar, 12 string guitar, russian guitar, acoustic bass guitar, tenor guitar, harp guitar, drumtar, extended-range guitar, and guitar battente.

The electric guitar, which has a profound influence on popular culture, was introduced in the 20th century. George Beauchamp patented the electric guitar in 1936, and co-founded Rickenbacker International Corporation (also known as Rickenbacker), an electric guitar manufacturer, which is known for having invented the first electric guitar during the 1930s. However, the electric guitar was first produced for the wider public by Danelectro. Electric guitars may include many exotic varieties of electric guitar with two, three or rarely four necks, and different string arrangements.

The parts of classical guitar and electric guitar typically include Headstock, Nut, Machine Heads (or pegheads, tuning keys, tuning machines, tuners), Frets, Truss Rod, Inlays, Neck, Heel (acoustic or Spanish) - Neckjoint (electric), Body, Pickups, Electronics, Bridge, Pickguard, Back, Soundboard (top), Body Sides (ribs), Sound Hole with Rosette inlay, Strings, Saddle, and Fretboard (or Fingerboard).
