Satellite television is a TV system delivered via communications satellites. Satellite tv networks are also known as dish tv networks. The broadcast started in 1989 and now as BskyB, which is one of the most booming pay TV services. It (Astra 1A) started TV broadcasts on February 5, 1989 . Till 1998 all of its satellites were co-located with 1A at 19.2°E, chairing that place to be recognized mostly as Astra 1.

Hot Bird – It is the general name used for the family of satellites functioned by Eutelsat. Eutelsat is situated at 13°E above the Equator and with a transmitting track over Europe , North Africa and the Middle East . The Hotbird constellation transmits both digital as well as analogue radio and TV channels free-to-air and encoded. Additionally there are a few interaction and IP services. The satellites presently at 13°E are figured as 2, 6, 7A & 8. Hot Bird 9 has been declared, with a planned commencement in Q4 2008, with Hot Bird 10 following in 2009.

It is owned up by DIRECTV Group, which is operated by Liberty Media.

Astro – It is a payment-based direct broadcast satellite (DBS) or direct-to-home satellite TV and radio service in Malaysia , Brunei and Indonesia . The service is transmitted from the each and every Asia Broadcast Centre (ABC) situated in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia . It is possessed by MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems, which is a subsidiary of Astro All Asia Networks plc. The company annunciated the Astro Max system, which is a novel Astro receiver/decoder incorporated with a digital video recorder in July 2006. This decoder will allow Astro subscribers to trace up to 60 hours of planned events on an 80GB hard disk.
