Capra aegagrus hircus is a domestic goat subspecies, which has been domesticated from Eastern Europe and Southwest Asia . These goats are wild goats. Bovidae family is a kind of goat family and this family is very closely linked with the sheep, both goat and sheep falls in the goat antelope the subfamily Caprinae. Since many decades' people using goats for many things like milk, skin, hair, meat all over the world. In fact, goats have also gained recognition as pets. The oldest tamed species are domestic goats over the centuries.

There are male and female goats referred differently. Female ones are referred as nannies or does. And integral male goats are referred as Billies or bucks. Their offspring's are called as kids. Wethers are known as Castrated males. The goat meat of younger animals is widely known as Kid. Chevon is known as sometimes from the older animals. It can also be called as mutton in many areas.

Many of the goats are bred for pure milk that can be consumed fresh. But for the same, pasteurization is suggested to lower down the naturally existing bacteria's like Staphylococcusaureus. Escherichia coli is also a kind of bacteria present in goat milk . Cheese is made out of goat milk normally, but some small moneymaking operations provide ice cream and goat butter. To avoid the bad smelling scent from the goat's milk, strong-smelling buck must be removed.

Goat milk tends to activate very less lactose intolerance because their milk contains less amount of lactose. Goat milk lacks proteins agglutinin, but it is as expected homogenized. Goat milk has fewer percentages of fats; it is more or less same as that of the human milk than that of cow's milk. For infants and those people who cannot digest cow's milk, goat milk is recommended for consumption for the above-mentioned reasons. It has very low fat and is easily digestible.

On the contrary, the health department of UK says that, milk protein of goat is not appropriate, if counted as a basis of nutrition for infants under the age of 1 year. Their milk should not be based on the milk of goat. Health Department of UK also says that, for lactose intolerant babies, the goat's milk formula is not suitable because it has same levels of lactose near cow's milk based toddler formulae.

Goat butter can easily be distinguished from that of cow's butter. The butter made out of goat milk is white while the cow's milk is yellow. This is because beta-carotene present in goat milk is yellow in color gets changed in to a colorless appearance of vitamin A. Greek well-known variety Feta is made up of a combination of a milk of sheep and goat.

According to the researchers, goat's milk is very helpful is preventing the diseases like bone demineralization; anemia etc. Goat milk contains many beneficial properties than cow's milk, which provides strength and a good health. Goat milk helps in preventing the iron deficiency diseases like anemia and weakening of bones diseases like bone demineralization.
