Coconut Milk
The liquid that is taken out from the grated soft tissues of a developed coconut is called coconut milk . Coconuts are different from other nuts, which are normally hard. It is in fact quite fragile and is perishable in nature with a lower shelf life. This is specifically on the removal of the external shell of the coconut. The external husk of the coconut is thick and stiff for the consumers. Hence they are normally removed before you witness the coconuts within the stockpile. The hard husk of coconut is very tough to remove. Coconut is available in the market with removed husk for the consumers.
When you go for the purchase of coconut in the market, it's always recommended to select the heavy one. Nobody wants to purchase the cracked one. When you purchase the coconut, offer it a shudder just to ensure that you are buying the one which is filled up with coconut juice. Do make sure of the eyes to see that they are not mould and that the solid fleshy tissue is pure white in color within the shell. If you mark the yellowish color flesh, it possibly goes too extreme.
Coconut Milk Can Be Refrigerated
If you want to find out the genuine coconut milk, you have to squeeze grated fresh coconut by a part of muslin. These days, fine quality and quantity coconut milk products are available in the cartons and cans, so there is no need to squeeze coconut on your own. Coconut cream is thicker than its milk and you can choose to have that also. The can of coconut milk should be refrigerated once opened. You can preserve the opened coconut milk can for some days. But, if the can of coconut milk is left opened at a room temperature, it will get spoiled and sour. However, it is best to refrigerate it for further use.

Fat content is very high in coconut. However, one can now purchase condensed fat varieties too which are easily available. Coconut oil has monolaurins that is considered to be quite strong antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral agent.
